DESCRIPTION:Han Mitakuyapi (Hello My Relatives)I have been in Language Reclamation (Taking Back or Restoring) for over two decades. I am grateful to my mentors who showed me the importance of language and the positive impact it has in life. As a daughter\, sister\, aunty\, cousin\, Kuns’i (Grandmother)\, and Ina (Mother) it’s the responsibility I embrace daily to promote language revitalization within our education systems and communities.I have been in Indigenous Education for most of my teaching career at various capacities from Education Assistant to Education Director and currently the FHQ Superintendent of Education.Language is embedded in our blood memory and DNA so it’s in us to reclaim this language back and flourish in our communities.
